The Clarinda Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet will be held Monday, Feb. 4, at the Clarinda Country Club.
The banquet theme is, “Those Who Laugh, Last.” The evening will begin with social time at 6 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. with the program at 7:30 p.m.
This year’s annual banquet speaker is Juli Burney, an award winning teacher, entertainer and author. Burney makes an amazing connection with her audiences. She is able to entertain with the ability of a headlining comedian, while either motivating or instructing with the ease of a topnotch motivational speaker.
Hailing from Lincoln, Nebraska, Burney has worked in all 48 continental United States and Canada. She has been commissioned by a variety of associations from the National Empowerment for the Arts to Fortune 500 companies to develop training programs that stick.
Burney has filmed for Showtime and HBO, along with making numerous guest appearances on radio and television programs. She has been named the Nebraska Artist of the Year because of her ability to help improve people’s lives through humor and effective use of communication tools.
Burney has also received the Toastmasters’ International Communication and Leadership Award.
“Juli Burney is an entertaining speaker and will definitely provide a wonderful message. The banquet is a great opportunity to thank our Chamber volunteers, officers and committee chairs for their dedication during 2018,” Clarinda Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Elaine Farwell said.

Dinner reservations for the banquet are $20 per person and can be made by calling the Clarinda Chamber of Commerce office at 712-542-2166. The deadline for reservations is Wednesday, Jan. 23.
