Clarinda Regional Health Center Board reviewed its annual audit during their meeting Tuesday, Sept. 24.
Performed by Seim Johnson of Omaha, Nebraska, the audit report showed how the center had gains in assets and operating income during the fiscal year July 1, 2018 to June 30.
The center had an operating of income of $1.25 million compared to $963,147 the previous year. Net position also grew by $924,634. The center had a decrease of $707,686 the previous year.
Total assets were $3.6 million in 2019. A decrease of slightly more than $1 million was reported the previous year.
The report listed 41 health-care facilities in Iowa that receive some level of tax funding. Clarinda Regional Health Center does not receive any tax support.
In other board news…
The board reviewed ethic policies for patients at end of life care. Board members discussed how there have been two instances where the patient did not have a power of attorney for health-care decisions. The policy attempts to prevent an unknown family member from making end-of-life decisions for patients who can respond to treatments and procedures.
Board member Dale Fulk was not in attendance.
