A copy of the recipe must be submitted with each entry. No custard or meringue pies will be accepted due to the lack of refrigeration available. Pies will be auctioned at the Horse Pull later that evening. Proceeds will go the New Market Celebration Committee.

Jim Jobe Dodgeball Tournament; 8 p.m. Registration starts at 7 p.m. in the Miner Pavilion. 6 person teams. Double elimination tournament. $30 entry fee per team. Open to all ages. The court uses the same boundaries as the volleyball court. All players must start on the endline to start the game. The balls must be brought back behind the service line before they can be thrown. A player is out if they step across the half court line. All players need to form a line after they get out starting with the earliest exit. If the ball is caught, the thrower is out and the first person in line comes back into play for the team that caught the ball. Any player caught behind the endline for more than 3 seconds will receive one warning from the judge. The second time will result in immediately being called out. Head shots do not count unless the player ducked into it, so it is up to the referee’s discretion. In case the game ends due to time, the team with the most players remaining wins. Fletcher Sunderman (712) 370-5241.
