HJ - Standard Nodaway Valley Historical Museum

Information about selected sites of historical interest in Clarinda will be provided during a two-day event in the community Saturday, Sept. 14, and Sunday, Sept. 15.

Featured will be bus tours to locations where stores and other enterprises were in previous years, and also past homes where notable Clarinda citizens once lived.

On the tours, Nodaway Valley Historical Museum Curator Trish Bergren will review details about the locations.

Four separate one-hour tours are scheduled on Saturday -- at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. The starting times on Sunday will be 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. On both days, the bus will depart from and return to the museum at 1600 South 16th St.

Due to bus capacity, seating for each tour is limited and reserved tickets are required. The price is a donation of $20 per person. Reservations can be made by calling (712) 303-1264.

Proceeds from the event will be used to support new and ongoing preservation projects at the museum.
