Keith Beattie Clarinda, Iowa Feb. 14, 1950-Mar. 2, 2020 Keith Beattie, 70, of Clarinda, Iowa entered into peace Monday, March 2, 2020 at his residence in Clarinda. Memorial Services were held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Ritchie Funeral Home, Clarinda, Iowa. Visitation was held 1:00 PM. Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment was held at the Clarinda Cemetery Clarinda, Iowa. Memorials may be given in his name. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on our website at, under Obituaries. Arrangements were entrusted to the Ritchie Funeral Home of Clarinda, Iowa, where we 'Celebrate Life'. Keith Edward Beattie was born February 14, 1950, in Maryville, Missouri, the son of John Leonard Beattie and Audrey May (Maples) Beattie. He had seven siblings. Keith attended schools in Kansas City, Missouri and Wichita, Kansas and received his GED. He was united in marriage October 4, 1994 in Hermann, Missouri to Nancy Ankeny and they shared 21 wonderful years together. They adopted and raised their grandson, Bryson Sean McAlpin. Keith worked in assembly at the Boeing Air Craft in Wichita, Kansas and retired from Kawasaki Corporation in Maryville as a machinist. Nancy and Keith enjoyed traveling and did as much as they could before her health kept them close to home. They also spent time camping, fishing and enjoying the outdoors. Their kids and grandkids were very important to them and they spent a lot of time enjoying their sporting events, dance recitals and school programs. Preceding Keith in death were his parents, John and Audrey Beattie; wife, Nancy Beattie (07/07/2016); brothers, Wayne Beattie, Marvin Beattie, Leonard Beattie; sister, Alice Davies; sister-in-law, Patty Ankeny. Survivors include his son, Bryson McAlpin and wife Mariah of Clearmont, Missouri; step son, Cory McAlpin and wife Marla of Villisca, Iowa; grandchildren, Rylan and Raella McAlpin and Wyatt and Rylie McAlpin; brother, Robert Beattie and wife Mary Ann of Syracuse, New York; sisters, Pat Spencer and husband Earl of Kansas City, Kansas and Carol Martin of Henrietta, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Steve Ankeny of New Castle, Indiana; nieces; nephews and friends.
