David C. Blank May 1, 1958-Dec. 26, 2019 David Charles Blank was born May 1, 1958 in Clarinda, Iowa to Lowell and Martha (Chase) Blank. The doctor told his parents that with his big brown eyes and long eyelashes he was the most beautiful baby he had delivered. David passed away December 26, 2019 at the age of 61 of a bacterial lung infection at The University of Kansas Health System. He will be laid to rest with his family in the Elmwood Cemetery near Coin, Iowa May 23, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Dan Wiebesiek officiating. His parents, sister Terri and brother Michael preceded him in death. He is survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins. David spent his childhood in Richmond, Missouri graduating from Richmond High School, and served in the US Army with an honorable discharge in February 1981 where he completed the Food Service Specialist Course. Having enjoyed very complimentary reviews in his food service career, he was most recently employed with the Don Bosco Centers in Kansas City. David had a good sense of humor and loved the outdoors. If there was garden space near where he lived, he planted lots of vegetables and flowers. In his younger years he would gather walnuts, shelling and cracking them for use in baking. He was a lover of music of which he had quite a collection. He was also an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. The most important quality that defined David was the love for his family; he never failed to ask about yours. His most recent hobby was genealogy tracing our family back to the 1700's. The family is grateful to the doctors, friends, and associates who have offered comfort to David. "He who Tills the Soil Walks Hand in Hand with God" . . . Sir Isaac Newton
