Charles Maley Clarinda, Iowa Dec. 2, 1939-Mar. 31, 2020 Charles "Chuck" Maley, 80, of Clarinda, Iowa entered into peace Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at Clarinda Regional Health Center, Clarinda, Iowa. Private Graveside Memorial service were held. Open Visitation was held, Saturday, April 4, 2020, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Ritchie Funeral Home, Clarinda, Iowa. Interment was held at the Clarinda Cemetery, Clarinda, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to Northwest Missouri University Student Radio Station, KXCV. Arrangements were entrusted to the Ritchie Funeral Home of Clarinda, Iowa, where we 'Celebrate Life'. Charles Edward Maley was born in Clarinda, Iowa,the son of Harold Maley and Gladys (Hulbert) Maley. He grew up in Clarinda and graduated from Clarinda High School with the class of 1958. Chuck was united in marriage May 20, 1961 to Connie Thurman in New Market, Iowa. They were blessed with three sons, David, Gary, and Mark. Chuck was a life long resident of Clarinda and lived his entire life on 17th Street. Chuck never lacked for employment; he had a variety of jobs throughout his lifetime which included being a lineman at General Telephone Company, a camera man at Clarinda Company, a broadcast engineer at Glen Olson Radio, an electrician at Lisle Corporation and Orison and his most recent and favorite was as a broadcast engineer for the Northwest Missouri State University student radio station KXCV. Chuck was a people person and loved being around people, students and especially his grandchildren. He had a variety of interests (he very seldom sat still). Chuck was a Ham Radio Operator since 1956 and he loved radio swap meets. He loved watching his sons race stock cars and they also enjoyed flying radio control airplanes. Boating and camping were also favorite activities with his family. Preceding Chuck in death were his parents; paternal and maternal grandparents; infant brother, Paul Maley; son, David Maley; granddaughters, Ashley and Brooke Maley. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 58 years, Connie Maley of Clarinda, Iowa; sons, Gary Maley and wife Ali of St. Joseph, Missouri and Mark Maley of Red Oak, Iowa; grandchildren, Kris Maley of Stanton, Iowa, Anna Sprague and husband Chad of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Katie Maley of St. Joseph, Missouri; great grandchildren, Delaney and David Sprague of Albuquerque, New Mexico; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
