Naomi Morgan Clarinda, Iowa July 31, 1927-Nov. 19, 2019 Naomi Morgan, 92, of Clarinda, Iowa entered into peace Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Clarinda Regional Health Center, Clarinda, Iowa. A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held 1:00 PM Friday, November 22, 2019 at Ritchie Funeral Home, Clarinda, Iowa. Interment will be held at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. Memorials may be directed to the Southwest Iowa Humane Society or to the Disabled Veterans Fund. Naomi Frances Dwyre Morgan was born July 31, 1927 in Burlington Junction, Missouri, the daughter of James Ronald Dwyre and Opal (Thacker) Dwyre. Her mother died when Naomi was three years old and her Grandmother Dwyre and her Aunt Blanche and Uncle Frank helped raise her. Naomi's father married Catherine Bird and they had four children, Ruby, James Ronald, Anna Catherine and Mary Jane. Naomi graduated from Burlington Junction, Missouri High School in 1945. She moved to Clarinda, Iowa and worked at the Mental Health Hospital. She met Jack Clifford Morgan and they married in Troy, Kansas September 7, 1946. Naomi and Jack worked in Mental Health Hospitals throughout their working careers in Iowa, Oregon, Utah, and California. Naomi retired July 31, 1992, from Dammasch State Hospital in Tualatin, Oregon. After Jack's death, Naomi continued living in Oregon until moving to Clarinda to be near her family. Naomi was a life long member of the Burlington Junction Methodist Church. She was an active member of the Employees Union in Tualatin, Oregon and the VFW Auxiliary for many years. Naomi enjoyed her cats, Thumper and Pepper and going to the casino. Preceding Naomi in death are her parents, Ronald and Opal Dwyre; grandmother; Uncle Frank Dwyre and Aunt Blanche Dwyre; three half siblings, James Ronald Dwyre, Anna Catherine Gilleland and Mary Jane Broker. Left to cherish Naomi's memory are her half sister, Ruby Davis of Mound City, Missouri; cousins, Mary Jo Combs of Clarinda, Iowa and Denise Johnson and family of Waukee, Iowa; nieces and nephews, Cheryl Thomsen, Gary (Jan) Thomsen, Terry (Carol) Thomsen, Katherine Knight, Bud Iermini, Sheri (Rick) Mederios, Kelly (Beverly) Iermini and Michael Iermini; all of California and Mary (Robert) McDonald of Washington; other relatives and many friends.
