Ralph Stubbendick Braddyville, Iowa Feb. 1, 1921-June 15, 2019 Ralph Stubbendick, age 98, of Braddyville, Iowa entered into peace Saturday, June 15, 2019 at his residence in rural Braddyville, Iowa. Funeral Services were held 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Clarinda, Iowa. Visitation was held Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Ritchie Funeral Home from 5 to 7 PM with the family greeting friends. Interment was held at the First Lutheran Church Cemetery in Avoca, Nebraska. Memorials may be directed to Clarinda Lutheran School, St. Paul Lutheran Church or First Lutheran Church, Avoca, Nebraska. Arrangements were entrusted to the Ritchie Funeral Home of Clarinda, Iowa, where we 'Celebrate Life'. Ralph Harry Stubendick was born February 1, 1921 at his family home near Avoca, Nebraska to Henry and Clara (Hauschild) Stubbendick. He grew up on the family farm in Otoe County, Nebraska. He received his GED and completed some college classes at Southeast Community College. He received his Real Estate Broker license later. He was united in marriage to Ruth Wessel October 22, 1941. They were blessed with three children, Alan, Sharon (Sherry) and Peggy. Ruth passed away May 19, 1972. Ralph was once again united in marriage January 1, 1978 to Jane (Morrow) Pobanz and became step father to four teenagers, Earl, Don, Keith and Louise. Ralph was a lifetime farmer and cattle producer. Farming was his first love. Ralph was also a contractor, operating a trencher and back hoe. He worked for Century 21 as a real estate broker. He then worked as heavy equipment operator for the city of Lincoln, Nebraska. Ralph's last enterprises were a sod farm and a tree farm. Ralph will always be remembered for his quiet, gentle demeanor, great strength and humbleness. He had a great sense of humor and was known for his many one liners. Ralph enjoyed traveling with his family and especially enjoyed the grandkids (he was the baby whisperer). He enjoyed his Bible study groups. Ralph was an active church member in all of his churches in Nebraska and Iowa. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth Stubbendick; son, Alan Stubbendick, daughter, Peggy Andrews; sisters, Sophie Ruge, Janet Liesemeyer; brothers, Dale, Earl, Glen Stubbendick; brothers-in-law, George Wessel and Wayne Wessel. Left to cherish Ralph's memory are his wife, Jane Stubbendick; daughter, Sherry (Roger) Ross; daughter-in-law, Gerri Stubbendick; step children, Earl Pobanz, Don (Lauri) Pobanz, Keith (Jeri) Pobanz, Louise Pobanz; ten grandchildren; twelve step grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren; four great, great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ellis Liesemeyer; sisters-in-law, Margaret Stubbendick, Janis Wessel; numerous nieces; nephews; cousins and many friends.
