TOMLINSON, KATHLEEN

Kathleen Anne (Mowrey) Tomlinson Brooklyn, Iowa Nov. 1, 1951-Sept. 1, 2019 Kathleen Anne (Mowery) Tomlinson, age 67, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 1, 2019. Visitation with the family will be on Friday, September 6, 2019, from 6-8 pm at Grace Community Church, 3098 I Ave., Toledo, IA 52342. A service celebrating Kathy's life will be held at the same location on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at 10:30 am. For the past year Kathy battled a rare form of cancer with her husband, Ernie, family, and friends by her side. She always had a smile on her face and a positive word of encouragement for all. Kathy was born November 2, 1951, in Des Moines, Iowa. She spent her early years in Clarinda, Iowa, from 1955 where she attended Trinity Presbyterian Church and graduated from Clarinda High School in 1969. On June 5, 1971, she was united in marriage to Ernie Tomlinson. In 1972 she graduated from the University of South Dakota at Vermillion with a double major in Library Science and English. Kathy and Ernie moved to Tama, Iowa, in 1974 where they were both employed by the South Tama Community School District. Kathy greeted students with a smile as they entered the library where she was the Media Specialist. She loved to read, loved to learn, and had a heart of compassion for all. Left to cherish Kathy's memory is her loving husband, Ernie Tomlinson of Brooklyn, Iowa; her father, Richard Mowery of Clarinda, Iowa; her brother Steve (Brenda) Mowery of Clarinda, Iowa; a nephew, Paul (Sarah) Mowery of Des Moines, Iowa; an uncle, Richard (Jude) Higday of Ankeny, Iowa; sister-in-law, Bev (Tomlinson) Garcia; nephew, Eric Garcia-March; niece, Hydee Tehana; along with many other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death was her mother, Beverly Fern (Higday) Mowery. Kathy will be missed not only by family, but also by numerous friends from Iowa, Florida, and around the world. She is now in the presence of the LordRESTORED! HEALED! DANCING! and SMILING!
