Richard Warnecke Clarinda, Iowa Mar. 31, 1939-June 19, 2020 Richard Paul Warneke was born on March 31, 1939 at the farm home of his parents, Henry William Warneke and Zoe (Sherman) Warneke which was southwest of Clarinda, Iowa. He was the sixth of their six children. His siblings were Carl (Cecilia), Clara, William (Wilma), Martha (Leonard and Elmer) and Orville. All preceded him in death as well as his parents. During 1955, he met Deanna Hope Cade. They were married October 5, 1958 at the First Christian Church of Clarinda. They shared over 61 years of marriage and were blessed with two very special daughters Deborah Lyn (Ron) Herzberg of Estherville, IA and Denise Leigh (David) Rasing of Altoona, IA. Richard was a member of the First Christian Church as well as having been baptized as a child into St. John's Lutheran Church in Clarinda. He belonged to several service and volunteer groups. Those included IOOF, Lions, Optimists, and perhaps his most fulfilling was the 6 years he spent on the Nodaway Valley Museum Board. Richard loved people and never missed a chance to visit or have coffee with friends. In April 2019, he and Deanna moved to Estherville, Iowa to be close to family where he fought a long battle with lung cancer. He was cared for by the Avera Hospice Estherville for many months.
