Roger Woodsmall Clarinda, Iowa Nov. 7, 1960-Oct. 20, 2019 Roger Woodsmall, 58, of Clarinda, Iowa entered into peace Sunday, October 20, 2019 at his residence, rural Clarinda, Iowa. Funeral Celebration of Life Services were held 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Ritchie Funeral Home, Clarinda, Iowa with Reverend Alvin Trusty officiating. Visitation were held Tuesday at Ritchie Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 AM with the family greeting friends. Interment was at the Memory Cemetery in New Market>, Iowa. Roger Dean Woodsmall was born November 7, 1960 in Iowa City, Iowa to Michael Dean Woodsmall and Rose Marie (Mundy) Woodsmall. He grew up in the Marion and Cedar Rapids area and graduated from Marion High School. He then attended Kirkwood Community College, Cedar Rapids, Iowa culinary school. Roger worked at several restaurants in the Cedar Rapids area. On June 6, 1989, Roger was united in marriage to Carol Glidden in Clarinda, Iowa. The couple lived in Cedar Rapids and Des Moines before moving to Clarinda in 1991. Roger was CNC operator for Wellman's Dynamics of Creston, Iowa. He loved spending time with his grandkids, playing pinochle and fishing. He loved the outdoors and his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family. Preceding Roger in death are his mother, Rose Marie Locke; grandparents; two uncles and two aunts. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Carol Woodsmall of Clarinda, Iowa; children, Aaron Glidden, Lisa Haffner (Josh), Dustin Woodsmall, NaTausha Poore (Blake), Derrick Woodsmall (Rachelle) all of Clarinda, Iowa and Brenda Woodsmall (Ethan Boddickor) of Grinnell, Iowa; nineteen grandchildren; father, Michael Woodsmall; brother, George Henson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sisters, LaVeda Quinby (Scott) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Linda Sewell (James) of Charlotte, Tennessee; nieces; nephews and many friends.
