TABOR – Fremont-Mills scored the game’s final 14 runs in a 14-4 win over Essex/South Page, Monday, June 17.

The win keeps the Knights unbeaten in the Corner Conference while the Trojans continue to search for their first win.

Essex/South Page scored four runs in the second inning to take the lead. Luke Dalley walked, and then with two outs Mason McClarnon singled. A Colton Thornburg single drove in a run and a Knight error plated another. Thornburg and Daniel Ohnmacht crossed the plate on wild pitches by Seth Malcom.

Essex/South Page pitcher Eli Drennen held the Knights without a run until the fourth, but Fremont-Mills jumped in front with a five-run inning. Malcom and Brock Hetzel opened the frame with walks, and then with one out Jake Malcom singled. Kyler Owen doubled in a pair of runs and then a pair of Trojan errors plated three more.

The Knights not only extended the lead, but finished the game with a nine-run home fifth. Seth Malcom opened the inning with a triple and scored on Hetzel’s fielder’s choice. The Trojans retired only one as 12 Knights came to the plate to score the nine runs and earn the run-rule win.

Colton Hauschild finished with three hits and a pair of RBIs to lead the Fremont-Mills offense. Dylan Chambers and Oscar Lupercio added two hits each. Owen drove in three runs, Hetzel added two RBIs.

McClarnon had two of the five Trojan hits as Essex/South Page dropped to 0-7 overall and 0-5 in the Corner Conference.

The Knights improved to 6-3 overall and 6-0 in the conference.
