Clarinda Regional Health Center announced Friday, June 5, second employee of the facility has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
Chief Executive Officer Chuck Nordyke said the employee tested positive after participating in the Test Iowa testing being offered at the facility. The individual is a middle-aged adult (41-60 years) who "is mostly symptom free and doing well," Nordkyke said.
The employee is quarantining at home and is awaiting a second test as recommended by the State Health Department.
Also on Friday, the Page County Public Health Department confirmed a second new case of the virus. That individual is an older adult (61-80 years) who has been hospitalized for treatment.
Overall, this brings the number of confirmed cases in Page County to 16. Of those, 12 people have been released from isolation and are classified as recovered cases. There have been no deaths reported in Page County related to the virus.
