            The Page County Auditor’s office released the names of candidates for school boards, city councils and Clarinda Regional Health Center board Friday, Sept. 20.

            Petitions were due Thursday, Sept. 19. The election is Tuesday, Nov. 5, for all seats.

            Clarinda school board has seven candidates for the three seats on the ballot; Ron Beaver, Trish Bergren, Paula Gray, Patrick Hickey, Cade Iversen and incumbents Greg Jones and Darin Sunderman. Scott McComb filled in the vacancy created by Nola Bond and chose not to run again.

            Clarinda City Council has three candidates for its three seats; Austin Ascherl and incumbents Craig Hill and Jeff McCall. Hill finished the council seat term of Lisa Hull who was elected mayor in 2017. Gary Alger chose not to run again.

            Clarinda Regional Health Center board has two candidates for its two seats; Jeff Clark and incumbent Bryan Whipp. Whipp replaced Heather Herzberg who resigned in 2017 during her term. Ron Richardson will not run again.

            South Page has three candidates for its three seats; incumbents Jacuqe Autry, district 1; Ron Peterman, district 4, and Chris Drennen, district 5.

            Essex City Council has four candidates to fill the vacancy created by Rick Dailey. They are Patrick Glassinger, Stacy Nelson, Jaime Simpson and Nicole Wenstrand.

There are also eight candidates for the three seats; Mark Dunn, Betty Lou Franks, Patricia Gay, Susan Girouex, Jeramy Hanson, Calvin Kinney, Donald Olson and Rod Riley. Kinney and Gay are incumbents. Saundra Marion will not run again.

            Essex School Board had four candidates for three seats; Cole Thornton and incumbents Meredith Baker, Brian Johnson and Doug Ohnmact. The board has two candidates for two vacancies; incumbents Lori Racine and Rebecca Franks.

Franks and Baker were appointed to the board in July. Ohnmact was the only board member that has not changed since the first of the year.

            Shenandoah School Board has three candidates for two seats; Darrin Bouray, Jeff Hiser and Steven Martin. Greg Ritchey did not run again and Kip Anderson’s seat is also on the ballot but he resigned earlier this month.

            Other county towns are as follows:

            Blanchard: No candidates and one is needed for mayor and three for council. Jeff Brownfield is mayor. Gary Brownfield, Wendy Brownfield and Laura Brownfield will not run again.

            Braddyville: Incumbent Mayor Kim Gotschall is the only candidate. Larry Murphy and Elaine Rippey are the two candidates for the three seats. Stacey Harvey and Mark Scanlan will not run again.

            Coin: No candidates for mayor or the five council members needed. TJ Horn is mayor. Marie Miller, Deb Coulter, Toni Sparr, John Nelson and Michelle Turnbull did not run again for council.

            College Springs: Brad Hammers is a candidate for mayor. Michael Runyon did not run again. Mary Boattaro, Amanda Owens and Leslie Schenck are three candidates for council. Five council candidates are needed. Jackie Cabeen and Chelsea Runyon, did not run again. Hammers will not run again for a council seat.

            Hepburn: Brian Rogers is the is the incumbent candidate for mayor. Incumbent council member candidates are Lisa Miller, Roger Miller, Arlene Raines, Kory Rogers and Don Taylor. Five are needed.

            Northboro: No candidates for mayor. Clint Wright will not run again. Eric Nelson and William Orme are the two council candidates. Three are needed. Stone McCoy will not run again.

            Shambaugh: Incumbent Mayor Ron Peterman is the only candidate. The five incumbent council candidates are Joseph Dow, Kevin Johnson, Patricia Johnson, Karen Miller and Sherry Stuvick. Five members are needed.

            Shenandoah Council: Incumbent Aaron Green is running for the at-large seat. Cynthia Allely-Arman and Jennifer Elliott are the other two candidates. Ward 2 has two candidates for the one seat; incumbent Robert Burchett and Jon Brantner.

            Shenandoah Park Commission has two candidates for the one seat; Jon Weinrich and Zac Zwickel.

            Yorktown: Sharyn Clark is the only council candidate and two candidates are needed.
